Developing our musical skills...

Our musical skills are put to good use in class lessons and individual instrumental tuition.  We listen to music, but also enjoy composing and performing too.  Our talented children make excellent progress with their music, but also learn to compose and perform music to reflect different ideas, cultures and moods.

Children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 joined  5,000 other choir members at the Sheffield Arena in November to be part of the "largest children's concert series in the world" - Young Voices

It gave the children the opportunity to experience an array of musical styles as well as providing them with a wonderful experience they will probably never forget.

Our young musicians getting into the rhythm!

During our Summer Music Concert all the children were able to show off their music and dancing skills to a very appreciative audience.

Years 3 and 4 performed a very different musical composition, which they had worked on during the school term.  Their composition was based around a visit to a supermarket and all the different sounds that occur when going shopping!  They composed some melody and rhythm motifs to represent different foods such as milk, dairy dunkers and chocolate.

Open the file at the bottom of this page to listen to an extract from their performance - and watch out for the 'Crash!' in the middle of the piece.
